Article Writing Tips - 3 Reasons to Use Lists

Article writing tips are a bonus for anyone who writes for business on a regular basis. No matter who you are we can all benefit from additional ideas and suggestions. Writing lists is a popular pastime for many of us. Here are just three reasons why it will work for you and your business.

1. It is quick and easy

Let's be honest, when you are preparing to write content your mind may often go blank. I write for many different individuals, companies and niches.

So coming up with something that is engaging, adds value and is useful to my audience is imperative.

I find the easiest way to focus and come up with some content is to write a list. Like the 7 reasons why your Staffy barks. Or the 3 things you must ask your SEO consultant in Lancashire before you start working with them.

Now this works for many reasons. When we give our brains an instruction to find information it usually obliges. Especially when we make it really structured. Just give it a go now and see how
easy it is.

2. The appeal of numbers

Numbers like words are incredibly powerful and conjure up all different manner of thoughts and feelings. The spiritual people out there are well aware that certain numbers have power and impact. Just surf on Google, or pick up a book on numerology and you will be fascinated.

For instance the number eight is a powerful number associated with wealth. The number three is used in many different areas, to symbolise success. The number seven is incredibly popular. On many of our own sites we create a mini series or seven pieces of content that can really give a lot of information to our clients.

From a communication perspective it works. The brain is an amazing part of our body and it can process anywhere between seven plus or minus two bits of information at any one time. Hence another reason why the number 7 works.

3. It is easy to read

When you are writing on the web, the overall outcome is to get your article read by your prospective clients and customers. The quickest way to do this is through a list.

Most of us are on information overload and reading articles and information can be a chore. Especially when you need some advice and help and you really don't have time to go through war and peace.

Imagine you have just set up your first online business and are not getting any traffic to your site. I would think that an article that gives you the 7 ways to increase traffic is more likely to spike your attention, than Traffic and websites where do you start?

So why not go and get yourself a cuppa sit down and write your first article list.
