The Social Marketing Finish Line Beating Your Competition

 

While there are an number of reasons to use social marketing techniques with your business, one of the main reason to implement these types of campaigns is for traffic building. All businesses can benefit from more traffic to their websites.

As we have seen, the inherent power of social bookmarking is based on the number and to some degree the quality of bookmarks you can get. By putting all of tis together into one package, you can create a considerable influx of targeted traffic to your web pages.

Just to be more clear, Let's do some quick math to drive home the point.

The problems with a poorly social campaign might look like this:
1 page on 1 website x 5 bookmarks = 5 links that people might see, if your lucky.

A much better Social bookmarking strategy will look like this:

10 similar pages x 10 different social network sites (Hubpages, Blogs, Squidoo, etc) x 100 bookmarking links for each page = 10,000 possible locations where someone might now see your link.

Even though the bad example may potentially drive some traffic to your site, just imagine how much more traffic you could get using the better example.

Now don't stop there. Just because you are starting to get higher levels of traffic does not mean that you are done with this race. No way! Keep up the marketing efforts and continue to be social.

Continue to add new pages each week. Add new content to pages you already have. Try to get other people to bookmark your sites for you and add even more "link juice" to your cause. When new sites open up, make variations specific to those new sites and continue to increase your brand awareness and market reach.
